At the Jawaharlal Nehru Institue of Medical sciences in Imphal,Manipur is cut off from the 

swirl of chaos that is the life of a hospital.Here ,in room.1,42 year old Irom Sharmila Chanu,the 

most recognisable face of this conflict-ridden state in the Northeast,has lived lived for 14 year.

Irom chanu Sharmila born 14 march,1972 also known as "Iron Lady of Manipur" is a 

civil rights activist,and poet from the indian state from the indian sate of Manipur.on 2 Nov

2000,she began hunger strike which is still ongoing.she refused food and water for more than 

500 weeks,she has been called "the World's longest hunger striker."

 Every fifteen days ,when irom sharmila charged under attemt to suicide leaves her hospital room when call from court.
