Bhai Mani Singh ji is a great shaheed .when Bhai Mani Singh ji was five years old,he visited anadpur where he met Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji.
Gobind rai and Mania became close friends
Guru Gobind Singh Ji then baptized mania on the day of khalsa who then became known as Bhai Mani Singh ji
Bhai mani singh ji wrote a copy of Guru Granth Sahib ji at damdama sahib under guru ji 's recitation.

 Bhai Mani Singh i became the head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib.
 in 1937 bhai mani singh ji applied to the govenor for permission to celebrate bandi chorh divas in Sri Darbar Sahib.

Permission was given on condition  that Bhai Mani Singh ji should pay 5000 rupees to the government after the celebration.
The governor sent a large force to amritsar and said the force was intended to keep order.
Bhai Mani Singh ji knew that Mughals didn't like the Sikhs so he issued an order to all sikhs not to come to the festival.
Bhai Mani Singh ji could not make the payment because there was no fair held so there were not many funds.
Bhai Mani singh ji was arrested into the prison of lahore becuase of no payment.
Bhai Mani singh ji was told he could be saved if he converted to islaam.he refused.Zakhriya khan ordered that bhai mani singh was to be killed limb by limb.
In december 1737,the executioner was prepared to cut from the elbow.

Bhai Mani Singh ji stopped him and said.. did you master not say limb by limb? you have missed many limbs.My joints start with my fingers .Start from beginning or else you may get into trouble.
the executioner and the crowds were struck with awe..

Bhai Mani Singh ji was martyred in december,1737 . one month after bandi chorh divas.
Saheed Ganj is present in lahore(Pakistan) in the memory of the great shaheed.
A Great Sikh Saint
A Great Devotee.
A Great Martyr.
